How Many Days Are Enough for a Kashmir Trip?
Enough depends on arrival time and how many meadow overnights you want. Here is how Aleeza Travels uses 4, 5, 6, and 8-day outlines — without pretending one number fits every group.

“How many days are enough?” is the wrong first question. The useful one is: how many nights do you want in Srinagar after you land, and do you want overnight meadow time in Gulmarg and Pahalgam or only day trips?
Aleeza Travels publishes a 5-night / 6-day circuit and a 6-night / 7-day circuit because those lengths fit a first visit without turning every date into a transfer. Your arrival flight still decides whether day one is a city evening or a write-off.
Four days (3 nights)
Treat this as Srinagar plus one outing. A Gulmarg day trip or a Doodhpathri meadow day can work if you start early. Two mountain overnights in three nights means you will remember the car. We rarely recommend it for a first family trip.
Six days (5 nights)
This is the shortest length that usually allows Srinagar, one Gulmarg night, and Pahalgam without cruelty. Arrival and departure still need to be realistic. If you land late, we keep the first afternoon empty.
Seven days (6 nights)
A spare night is the difference between a packed circuit and a trip that can absorb weather. Couples often use it for a slower Pahalgam evening. Families use it so children are not asked for two long drives on consecutive days. See the family tour outline.
Eight days or more
- A quieter second night in Pahalgam or Gulmarg.
- A Sonamarg day or night in season — as its own chapter, not an add-on to Pahalgam.
- A Srinagar day trip to Yusmarg or Doodhpathri if you want meadow time without another hotel.
- Rest after a late inbound flight before any mountain road.
What “enough” actually means
Enough is when you have seen the lake, slept in at least one meadow town if that is why you came, and not spent the holiday watching the clock. It is not a number we can stamp on every enquiry. Tell us your dates and whether anyone needs shorter driving days.
Frequently asked questions
Is 3 days enough for Kashmir?
It can be a Srinagar stay with one meadow day trip. It is not enough for Gulmarg and Pahalgam as proper overnights. We would rather do one place well than three places from the car.
What do most first-time guests book?
The outlines we publish most often are 5 nights / 6 days and 6 nights / 7 days. That is a planning default, not a survey result. Families sometimes add a night so driving days stay shorter.
Does a longer trip always include Sonamarg?
Only if the season supports it and you want that valley. Extra nights can also stay in Pahalgam or Srinagar. We do not add stops just to fill a calendar.
